    Hey Guys,

I bought this jacket second hand recently.  Im 54 and it just jumped out at me.  Some may hate it but for some reason I like it.  (Plus it was only 80 bucks)  It reminds me of something from back in the old days but I just cant figure what ??  Im guessing it is 20 - 30 years old ??  Does anyone remember this HD logo from the old days ?? It is a genuine jacket.  Is it something else that I remember ?  Hard Rock Cafe ??  WTF

Check the label. Harley jackets were done by AMF for several years, and were made in the USA. Look for the harley AMF logo, check the pockets for tags. They will have a batch number and sometimes a production date. Also, check the zipper brand. It's one of the easiest ways to date these jackets. Ideal, lightning and talon are some of the brands they used. It might be old enough to Jay it has new zippers/ lining, in which case, who knows? As long as you like it, that's all that matters.

    Hey 98Superglide

Thanks for responding.  I did a bit of searching on Harley Logos.  Believe it or not, How Stuff Works had a spread on them.  Looks like I was about right with the 20-30 year old estimate.  The Logo below is a Tank Emblem from a 90th anniversary Heritage Softail Custom.  This bike was effectionately called the Cow Glide due to its Black and White Paint theme.  They called it an Aviation inspried Theme and looks similar to my jacket.  Not sure how it made its way onto a Cow Glide. :)   Also; not sure what may have been going on in the world in the early 90's for Harley Davidson to be putting Aviation themed logos on stuff??  Anyway the wings may be what I like about the jacket.  I work in the aircraft industry but much prefer classic cars and motrocycles.  The jacket is definately Genuine as it has Harley Leathers Zipper on front, Liner has HD all over it inside and Genuine Harley Label.  Some Nice classic logos have come along over the last hundred and something years.

I remember the cow glide well. I thought it looked more like early 80s/ late seventies. Regardless, s I said, as long as your happy with it, all is good. I think it looks pretty cool.

Ooopppss!!  Couple Bourbons gone.  Came out when the knuckleheads were introduced.  Wings as well.

The themes all seem to roll into eachother.  Harley Davidson surely one of the most iconic brands ever.

    Hey Keith
Thats a nice Fat. Although my first couple Harleys were a Iron Head and Shovel Head and I never had an Evo I have a softspot for the early Evos and all the great stuff the new and invigorated HD brand came along with in the mid 80s and early 90s. It was a defining time in the company. The guys in charge including Willie G saved the Harley from sure failure with the new Softail and Evo.

Based on that, thank god Harley pricing wasn't indexed to house pricing in Sydney.

New Fatboy would be $389,990.00 plus on roads.

Thinking about it a case of Beer would be over $400.
