    Hello all,

I have a 2007 EFI XL1200N which had a Screaming Eagle Stage 1 upgrade and maps when I bought it in 2008. I recently put on a moon air filter (http://www.mooneyesusa.com/product-p/aa521.htm) with breather bolts and am a little worried I might do some damage without having it tuned/mapped but it's bloody near 800 bucks to have it done! I read a little about the possibility of valve pitting. Should I be worried about doing any damage?

The thing that I find strange is that the bike actually seems to be running better with the new air filter untuned than the stock filter! Definitely feels more powerful (probably because of the breather bolts) and it doesn't have this strange, and frequent, hiccup when idling any more.

Any opinions/ adivce are welcomed. Thanks! yes

Wouldn't that basically just be spraying WD40 through the breather bolts? This is essentially the set up I have: https://www.google.com.au/search?q=sportster+breather+bolts&safe=off&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAWoVChMIm9jdwfeayQIVRq6mCh0S5wJf&biw=1573&bih=919#imgrc=uBfnwuI2M2WPhM%3A

I'm not sure if it matters, but I have also noticed some steam/ fuel mist coming out of the filter a couple times. The new filter definitely lets you smell the burning gasoline.

Gotcha Hilly, I will give it a go this evening and try to pay attention to any clearances.

Fikmik: the bike was originally tuned with a screaming eagle tuner. As I mentioned, it seems to idle a lot better with the new filter and otherwise runs just as good as ever. Next to no backfiring, so I didn't suspect any leaks.
