Has the tts got any easier tuning ignition timing?

The feature is there mate but I have not used it yet, when I was last using TTS I was also using MyTune for the timing, once I have the VE sorted I will look into it, tell you something though, when you use advanced mode it also gives you the injector duty cycle chart so you can see if you are within limits as you go, it just pops up now so you don't have to go looking for it, handy if you are getting close so you don't keep going with maxed out injectors.

Hello again Hilly. I originally used an HP Slate 500 with an 8.9" screen, but it became painfully slow when opening any programs with it. Updated to windows 10 but it didn't help. Now using a Panasionic Toughpad with a 7" screen running windows 10 that is working better. Modified the mounting fixture that I used with the HP Slate to fit the Toughpad on my new bike.
The timing feature works well as long as there isn't much knock activity going on. Tuned a '08 Fat Bob today, and it took several tuning runs to get VEs to where they need to be, plus there was a lot of knock activity going on. Map still needs work, but will have to wait till I get back from work in 4 weeks. - Rob

Nice Rob, bloody dear little gadgets! I got another one of the Dell's like I had before, refurbished, running windows 10, will only use it to tune bikes, once all the software is installed and updated I will turn off the wifi so it should be happy for a few years.
Installed the 263's and the heavy breather elite, still got to tidy up the external breathers but that's no biggy, need a meaty tee that I can drill and tap.
Leg room is way the fuck better, bit fugly but I don't look at it while I'm riding.

That's a great looking bike Hilly.
I don't particularly like the look of heavy breather intakes either (although I'm sure they'd work well) but that looks shit hot on yours.

Thanks Jay, I like it :)
Tidied up the breathers, doesn't look too out of place I'm thinking.
Took it for a spin to see how these 263's go, Lushy was right, they are a decent street cam if you have the compression to run them, it's got nice town manners and pulls like a demon on the throttle, I reckon it would wind off the clock if I was game enough, went through a dollar eighty in fifth still accelerating hard, this engine is nothing special, them things Hoody, Ando and the like put together must be mad as.
Should get the tablet this week so will give the tune a tickle up and see how it turns out.

I think your being very humble young man as you dont have the access to both the equipment or day to day knowledge they have. I know you know what your doing and your tech knowledge is very valuable to members.

Finally got around to having a go at tuning the 263E's today but got rained off, not heavy rain but usb's etc plugged into the ECM port and water don't make good bedfellows I'm thinking, anyway got 7 runs in, all the lower TP VE stuff is pretty right, just got to do the higher bits and timing, makes it easier with the tablet on the bars, can stop and make a new cal as soon as the histogram looks full for where you are aiming.
I did have one issue that might be a heads up for TTS users though, with the tablet I was unable to select advanced in Vtune 3 when in the welcome window, none of the options were visible or obtainable, after a bit of head scratching and windows fault finding I found it was because I had enlarged the screen font size and it did something to that particular window, put that back down to 100% and all good.
Couple of pics for the heck of it.

I must have missed the post where you fitted the 263's , had to look back a few pages to find the story behind them !
I remember Murph saying the 263's were one of his favourites in a 120r with heads/comp.
I'm sure he wont mind me sharing some outright numbers:
    *266e 139hp/127tq
    *263e 137hp/128tq
    *259e 132hp/131tq

I've lost track, what static compression are you at ?
Did you stick with the stock springs ?
My current setup (TW67) hits a real sweet spot around 160, and doesn't stop pulling .
Still has serious torque down low, but loves to spin up in the higher range.
I really want to try something with more lift in the low .600" range.

Still at 10.5 static mate, haven't measured CCP yet but estimate it would roll over mid 180's, I'm ok with that, yes stayed with the stock springs as I didn't want to pull the heads without getting them worked, did some measuring which was a pita on the bike, checked out ok, unless I break one they will be fine for now, it does like to get going as the revs come up, I didn't give it much stick yesterday as I had the cal in tune mode so a few tables disabled, was hoping to get back to it today but the kids have me hostage, maybe later, I think I'm going to like it though and even if I don't I still have the 590's sitting there.
Do you have a cam in mind for said swap?

Didn't get back to the bike today, life got in the way, however I did get a chance to look over the cal and do a bit of manual blending on the outer edges of the VE tables, it was then that the penny dropped I was still tuning in TPS and not MAP, bugga, so took my last two data runs as they was aimed at different areas and applied them to the cal after I ticked the MAP box in tuning constraints, it's got to be a better way to do it as it's load based and lines up with the main lambda table, so two steps forward one step back but it is still progress...... at least that's what I'm telling myself.
So the message is if you are tuning at home check your software for the MAP/RPM based VE option before you start as in this TTS cal the TPS/RPM VE option is the default setting, may be different in others that have the MAP option, haven't checked.

I find it a bit of a struggle to tune on the road.
Hard to find empty roads that allow me to ride how I need too !

Regarding my Cam choice, I am really stuck in a hole.
I have to go with whats available in a "conversion" Cam.
I should have machined the cases to suit the later bearing size when I had the chance.
I really need more compression, but Bobby's Valve basher # TW9b is something I need to try.

Yes I hear you mate, it's getting harder to find places to stretch the legs, yesterday was bad traffic wise, so many out for a drive, I'm going to have to take it out pretty wide next time.
That cam of Bobbie's is a proven performer, some say noisy others say not, I liked his 44's in my Dyna, the 57's made more noise than them with less giddy up to boot.

Had another go at tuning the beast recently, tuning MAP based cals on the road needs a slightly different strategy to get the cells lit up on the histogram, after five runs I got it down pat, was thinking at the start that it was difficult but once you get a system happening it is easier than a TPS based strategy to get the data hits, the pic is run five.
