SE Heavy Breather question

    Hi all,

I have a SE Heavy a Breather set up on my Fat Bob. I've just noticed that my filter element has changed from red to a grey colour over the course of 1400 km's. Surely it doesn't need any maintaining after 1400 km's? The colour change is suggesting it does?

    Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated.

That's weird. Mine never changes colour between services at all. Did you give it a spray with filter oil before you fitted it? If I were you I'd be giving it a clean and hit with filter oil and then see how it goes.

Sounds pretty normal, the colour will fade as the filter oil disappears, I service mine (clean and re oil) anywhere between 1500 - 3000 ks. Just don't over oil it

Thanks for the responses blokes -- yep she needs to be cleaned and re-oiled.

I thought that it would last a bit longer then 1400 km's but there you go. Went to the dealer, got the hot tip for servicing it and a can of K&N. She is 200 k's off the first service but I figured I will learn a new skill on my first HD. Cheers.
