2015 Breakout slow to return to idle

    Hi,
I'll try and explain this as best I can..
    I have a 2015 Breakout I'm helping a mate with.
The only mods it has is 2 into 1 D&D pipe, S&S inducted air cleaner, and a Thundermax ECM.
The problem the bike is having is when you are slowing to go around a corner or coming to a stop.
It wants to hold revs [around 1750 - 2000 rpm] and hangs there a bit before returning to idle.
It gets a bit scary when you are wanting to go around a corner and the bike pushes instead of throttling back or it wants to keep driving through a stop sign.
Now before I get into ripping the throttle body off the bike and checking seals I have sprayed auto start around and it made no change to rpm at idle.
I have screwed the throttle stop back and closed the butterfly up about 1 thou.
This made no difference except richening the idle up a small amount. The motor still holds rpm and then slowly returns after you stop.
I thought it may have been the map he had loaded.. changed it to another map but it made no difference
I Have checked that the throttle cables are all adjusted correctly. I have made sure the map's AFR are correct and not running lean.
I have advanced and retarded timing. I have richened and leaned fuel AFR.
I have run out of ideas apart from removing the throttle body and checking o-rings.
I have spoken with a guy who has a 2014 model Breakout with a SE Race Tuner and he is experiencing the same with the motor taking time to return to idle..
He says it seems to return alright from higher rpms till it gets to around the same rpm, holds for a second or so then returns to normal.
But he says it feels like it is doing the same, pushing when it should be throttling down.
    Has anyone experienced something similar??

    Cheers

If its a 2015, take the fucken thing to Harley and let them sort it. Otherwise take it and get it tuned properly, the tuner will sort it out on the dyno.

Dollars to doughnuts it's the Thundermax

    No HD dealer warranty there

    UPDATE:

Last night changed out the TPS & IAC from another bike and the motor is acting the same...

Leaning toward the THUNDERMAX being faulty..

    Cheers

"and a Thundermax ECM." You have the answer in your post. What is wrong with the stock ECM?

Just out of curiosity on the right hand side below the throttle there is a black plastic star shape knob which faces to the ground. Make sure that hasn't been tightened up, It basically is like a cruise control and if it has been tightened slightly it will hold the revs.

We used to get bikes passing through from interstate with high revving problems and 9 out of 10 had winded it on while cruising and forgot to back it off when not cruising

I test rode a New Indian a few months ago and was doing the same thing, Every time I came up to a Traffic light to stop the thing would jump forward as I when down though the Gears ... I never bought it

How did you go with this Mr Bean?

I've got the same issue, but pretty sure it's running a bit lean. It doesn't do it all the time, normally when cold, or when cruising (it holds about 2000rpm for a couple of seconds, so when slowing down it feels like it accelerates again, but it's just no longer "compression breaking" if that make sense). If I'm coming down from higher revs it's normally ok, I think.

I've got the new Stage 5 kit on the 2016 Breakout (I thought it might just be tuning but I come across this thread in a search). I'll ask the Harley guys about it tomorrow, but thought I'd see how you went.

    Cheers, Mal.

Thundermax is sending over a new or repaired unit.

Will keep you updated when we re-install it.

    Cheers
