After loosing the nut and locking latch on one of my bags (2010 Road King) I was checking to arrange the new bits. I found that some of the small screws that hold the lid on were also missing. Only 1 of 5 left on one side.Did a check and found most of the screws were loose on the whole latch mechanism. Got out the Loctite and went over every screw including the brackets that the retaining pins go through. Not something you would normally check too often but anyone with a tourer should have a look at. Be gentle with the screws that go into the plastic lid. I dont think it would take much too strip them.
