Hi Guys
Having just aquired my 1st Hog, a 2013 Road King and just love it.
Sorry in advance for RANT
However not long after picking her up I noticed an intermitant engine warning light and battery light.
So i chose to put her into a local dealer to do an early service about 1500k early to change the tune as running real lean and to sus out this engoine light issue.
Well after service,I got told there were heaps of codes and the tune was all wrong, but now all sorted.
I could feel the difference in performance, smoother.
Anyways I live in regional WA so not unusal for me to do 500k plus in a day, main reason for buying a bagger.
Well a couple of Sundays ago last minutes decision leave home early and ride to Perth, in the metro area notice once again intermitant engine light again.
On heading home stop for a drink, recommence no go battery too low, mate come to aide jump start and head home and then dies middle of nowhere nearly.
Anyways 5 hours and $400 later I get her home.
Monday morning ring dealer ship WTF, I discover previous service previous owner asking about engine light.
Now cos issue seems to have arised while still under warranty, they will do "Goodwill Claim to HD"
So get bike to Perth and decide while there I'll get them do some stuff they recommend.
So well over a week later, chasing update: responce all the bits you ordered are here and nearly all done--------What about the charging issue----well we charged and tested battery and thats all good---------------------But what about why its there for--------------will get back to you.?????
Are they actually listening to me????/
I hope some are still here.
Is there any history for baggers having issues in this area, I think I saw something about 2012 Road Glide, but that didn't really reveal anything.
Any clues please.
BTW still love my RK, didn't buy her to have in the dealership
Cheers
Kappy
my 2012 RK had the same issue took it into the dealer for the first service turns out there was a batch of gaulty regulaters , fixed on the spot ...no charge all good since then
Exactly Kiwidave, my sentiments too.
I dropped it off 3 days before it was booked in on their intructions so it could be investigated.
My Bad was as they were gonna do a Goodwill claim I thought I get some other things done while it was in there.
They managed to get them parts easily enough and was only after I reminded them on Tuesday why it was there in the first place, that they seemed to double check and discovered the fault, could have tested that a week ago me thinks.
I'll wait till I get my ride back before I make reference to their customer service.
Could be the lst visit there??
Good news, gotta text yesterday that Candy was ready to go.
Gave em a ring to confirm seeing as they said a week, seems regulators are accessible.
Anyway went up yesterday and pick her up.
Ask them to explain the bill which they did and I expressed my dissappointment re lack of comms etc and it was received well.
I even got a redcution off the bill.
They replaced the regulator gratis and still maintain that because it was intermitant was difficult to determine even though they claim their equipment just about pick the last time I farted.
They claim these things don't fail often??? interesting.
While there I got them to sort out the throttle sensor in hand grip, wow a different bike.
Pissed down all the way home last night.(bike on trailer)
Weather permitting back on the track soon.
