    Hey All

So two days into riding the bike and I got pulled over by the boys in blue. telling me my bike was way too loud. Its a Breakout with Stage 1 kit, 2 into 2 Big Radius pipes. So I have been given a referral to go and have it checked. Obviously I know its going to be illegal but am wondering how you guys deal with this issue. So many bikes out there with this same set up so I can't be the first in this situation. The referal notice list Vance and Hines pipes so I can't put the stock pipes back on....

Anyone else been in this situation? If so how do you get around it?

    Cheers

    Smithy, where are you located?

That may help with responses as all States are different with their testing centres and protocols.

Smithy that v&h big radius exhaust is gonna attract that kind of attention. I've had the same exhaust and was defected riding the bike home just after I bought it (in nsw). Police stopped me and then had me follow them into an rta test station. That was on the hume hwy riding at the speed limit. Since then, I've found that a more subtle sounding exhaust, consideration for your neighbours and carefully choosing the time and place to open the throttle wide will let you do your own thing without any problems.

Re the test, my experience across three jurisdictions is that you put your oem exhaust on and go for your test. If they ask about the v&h exhaust, tell them you realised it was loud but only just purchased the bike. Sounds like that's the facts anyway.

I'm on the Central Coast in NSW. They wrote on the paperwork Vance & Hines so they will know if I swap out the original pipes. Agree in regards to choosing when to open her up etc I was just cruising down the Pacific Hwy in traffic doing the speed limit when he stopped me. Wondering if I can get some quiet Vance & Hines pipes to throw in for the test...

V & H will not pass any Test Even with there Quite Baffles, you have to change back to Stock Approved Pipes, There is a Appoval Code on the Pipes that the Tester has to Note down on the on the Test paper work . Dosn't matter what the police wrote down... If you just bought the Bike I would go back to the Dealer and give them hell about selling them to you and make it there problem , especially being a new Bike

Does not matter what they write, you have to test with stock pipes. Walka is quite correct, I went through this pain in the ass procedure last year.

Don't know about NSW, but got done in QLD last year with Screaming Eagle slash cuts. Copper told me to put the stock pipes back on for the test. Did that, then took it home and put the eagles staight back on

Because if you continually get pulled, switch pipes, pass test, put loud pipes back on then get pinged again.. Then you'll get really fckd.

How much labour does it cost to swap back to stock pipes?
