Shorter brake and clutch

    Hi all,

I know this may have been asked and answered but I have searched the forum and cant find an answer.

I have fitted a set of Burleigh t bars to my 07 fatboy and the original cables are way too long.  I have measured them (correctly I think) but where do I find some shorter cables?  Have checked HD out and cant find anything there and have had a look on some of the sponsors pages to no avail.

Am I best to get these cable (brake and clutch) custom made somewhere or is there somebody some where who will understand what I want if I give them the measurements of the cables and the model etc. of my bike.

Thanks in advance and i apologise if the answer is obviuous, its just not to a relative newby like myself.  There are pics of the bars on the bike in my pics if you need to see what Im on about.

    Cheers.

I still havent got these cables sorted yet. Got a guy in Geelong thats going to make a brake line for me but am I right in the fact that I read somewhere, the clutch cables on all big twins are the same length from the adjuster on the down tube to the transmission where they attach and I only need to measure from the clutch lever to the adjuster ie the top half, to determine what length I need?  Sorry for newby question.  I actually need to shorten the cable as i took stock fatboy bars off and put Burleigh t-bars with a six inch rise on.  Would rather replace the cable than shorten them as i want to put braided or similar on.  The ones on there now are plain black.  Thanks.

braided are fuck but if you must, black is cool don't want a cable to stick out anyway  , no mechanial advantage in braided just  ( looks ), if you want it that bad buy a new barrnet type good brand cable not shit tiwain shit brand  , then meassure da outa lenght you want on da bike with a tape messure leave room for turning l to right etc  ,       have da inna to outa lenght made da same as stock that came off da bike , too easy sent them to Adavance Insturments in sydney for modify no worries been doing this for years

Ended up getting the brake line custom made. Took the bike to him today in Geelong and he made it while I waited. About 10 minutes and $85 Im a happy camper. Great service.
Re routed the clutch so Im all good again.
