As the title indicates, 2015 103ci Fatboy - what revs should I be changing gears at when just riding gently after run-in? What revs are considered as labouring the engine?

    thanks

    John

Try to stay at or above 2000 RPM when "cruising", that's @ 105 Km/H so no need to hold up the traffic

After 1000 K's you can whack the revs up to 4500 no worries for short periods while accelerating

After 1600 K's then "Bob's yer uncle" and 5750 RPM is no worries

    I always change oil and filter at 250 and 1000 K's , then every 4000 , but that's just me !

    3500 rpm works for me

I ran my 96 in with that as a rule ! I still change around that mark listen to the motor it'll let ya know

And vary the riding, not just flat roads where rpm stays steady, find hilly areas so its going up & down loading the engine a little

Congrats on the new bike too!!

Every bike does get "run" at the end of the production line , some on a rolling road

Essential " quality control " in modern production

Long enough to to " bed everything in " ?

For most bikes not even close I would say

"Running in" still has it's place

And if not the factory, the salesman, mechanics and all the joyriding customers have had it well into the 5k rpms for most of that 500kms it had on the clock wink
