Screaming Eagle vs Vance & Hines

Hi, 2015 forty eight owner. Bought the bike with Screaming Eagle Street Cannon slip ons but I'm not entirely happy with the sound. I'm after the loudest, sweetest note I can get without going to a full exhaust and loosing power. Has anyone heard a comparison between the street cannons and the vance & Hines twin slash 3inch slip ons on a 48 or any 1200 sportster?

    Cheers in advance!

Can't comment on those two you mention, but I know first hand the S&S slash cut slip-ons sound pretty damn nice. Good note without killing power. Just something food for thought mate.

Thanks mate I'll check those pipes out. How's the quality compared to the Vance & Hines gear?

S&S is good stuff. They've been around for ages and have a great reputation as far as I'm aware.

Like Hudson I can't comment on the specific pipes you've mentioned. But I have used these SE slip-ons and they were good pipes http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/se-shorty-dual-slip-on-mufflers-pa-06-8072609a--1 They sounded great with a nice deep tone, much better than stock but not too obnoxious and did not sacrifice any low down torque. I'm not a fan of slip-ons though so I eventually swapped them out.

Now about V&H, I've also used them but only their full 2-2 systems so I don't have anything to say about their slip-ons or their 2-1 systems. What I will say though is a lot of people seem to flock to V&H products, especially people new to Harleys, and it gets pretty boring. My opinion is most of their products are form over function. I'd really look around because there's heaps of stuff out there. Check out sites like CruiserCustomizing, Revzilla, or JP Cycles etc. for an idea of what's available.

If you're chasing personal experiences and reviews, I'd google the specific brands and models if you haven't already because there's much bigger US based Harley forums that sometimes have huge threads dedicated to certain items that I have found very helpful in the past. Not saying this place isn't a great resource with heaps of knowledge, but there is also a lot of content elsewhere.
