i have FAT BOY 2013
i bought new speedometer (combination speedo/tach)
the speedometer show me all the time 999999
my bike has connetor with 6 pin but the adapter cable i got from H-D with the sppedometer has 4 pin.
my Question is: how could i convert between them 4 pins to 6 pins.
is it possible to convert between them?

I don't mean to be smart but did you read the instructions?

It sounds as if you have not transferred the odo reading using the data plug under the seat.

I haven't fitted one of these myself but it shouldn't need any adaptor cable, that is for the data transfer.

I think the later speedos just plug in and copy the info across automaticly and after 50 ks they lock to that bike.
The earlier ones require the data cable to set them up before installing.
I dont think they are interchangable between the two models.
Not 100% sure though.

According to the instruction sheet here:

If you have a 11+ Softail, you just have to plug it in to your existing connector. It is not like the other speedometer where you have to use an adapter to hook up to the data link connector for the copy process.

This kit is a direct replacement for the original equipment (OE) speedometer on 2011 and later Softail models.

Both the ECM and speedometer retain the odometer value. If the speedometer is replaced, it will display the odometer value stored in the ECM. The replacement speedometer will become locked to the ECM after 31.1 miles (50km) have been accumulated.

So basically if you have done the 31.1 miles then it should be ok - you cannot use an adapter cable. If it is not ok, it is either broken or you have not installed it correctly. Either way take it back to the dealer and ask them

but i think they didnt understand and told me the cable cost 650$, is it real?????
so what should i do now? how can i fix it???
