Best bet is to go to the US sites that list the parts catalogue and get the part numbers. That's how I got the 2016 airbox from my local Harley.

Ben, it may just be a matter of patience. I am keen on the new "tuck and roll" Iron seat as well. When the 48 came out, I switched the standard seat on my 2010 Iron to the 48. Had to wait a few months before the parts system caught up with the new bikes. I will make some inquiries with my dealer when I am there next weekend and post details if I gat any. TC

i dont have the part number either but the seat finally arrived yesterday along with a few other bits...

Including a headlight fairing, i ordered the unpainted version which i thought would match the iron paint and does not. i think im gonna have to spray it flat black with a rattle can but not too sure if the quality is going to be acceptable (i have very little experience with spraying0

fitting my DIY tank lift today. next on the list is a wire tuck and coil relocation.

the seat looks loads better and is more comfortable, for $200 i woud highly recommend!

Looks great mate, well done. My seat still has not arrived. They are now saying it is not in the country, which is different to the previous advice.....will just have to wait. In regards to the spray painting, youtube is your friend. There are heaps of good clips of how to rattle can spray paint and get good results. Try "delboys garage" for a start. On your bike, have you fitted lowering blocks to the rear? If yes, which ones and how much did they lower the bike by? Cheers, TC

Seat looks great mate, do you know if there's a pillion seat to match? I like the look of my double seat but "she-who-must-be-obeyed" reckons it's the worst bike seat she's ever sat on - and believe me she's been on some shockers.

TC883, agreed forks and shocks are shit. Have you thought of fitting progressive cartridges (about $380), they are great, hit a bump and they don't bottom. As for shocks, fitted GAZIs ($850), again great, harder to fit as also put on a D&D bobcat exhaust and they wanted to kiss one another, but all OK now. Not sure how much these compare price wise to the HD forks and shocks, but I'm happy with my mods. Also upgraded the brakes, HEL braided line ($90), EBC floating rotor (about $250) and XR1200 calliper ($250).

Anyone want some V&H black short shots cheap?

Hey guys, yes there is a passenger seat in the same style.

i got the lowering blocks from a guy on here after starting a thread about them. not sure what make they are but there are 3 holes in various positions so can lower 1 inch, 1.5 inch 0r 2 inches. they did not fit properly to my 2014 model, but i chucked on a few spacers and seems to have done the trick.

one thing i will say about the new seat is that it has a reduced reach from the old standard seat which i think is going to take a bit of getting used to, my arms are no longer fully stretched to reach the handlebars. i think i prefer the position of the original seat but will see how it goes.

    Hi TC and Ben,

Thanks for the info on the seats. Still like the looks of mine but if her ass gets too sore will get the ones you are suggesting, but only after cams and maybe a 1250 kit. As far as the shocks TC Gazi do the remote reservoir like I got and one without the remote at a bit less, not sure if they make one shorter than 13.5 inch (standard for a Aus Nightster, not sure for an Iron or 48, but should fit as same frame etc just you won't get the slammed look, but you will definitely get a better ride). The progressive cartridges were easy to fit and work, so, so much better. If you aren't happy with the brakes the XR1200 pistons fit easy and are cheap ($250 from a Harley dealer, the braid lines are cheap ($80-90 from Hel), the wave floating rotor from EBC was more (and to be honest not really needed unless your rotor is warped). The difference in braking and probably more important feel and control is amazing, definitely worth considering.

Cheers guys and thanks for the info on the seats.

    Hi TC,

Just looked at your pic and wondering how long are your shocks, look like the 11 inchers. Have a look at the picture of Ben's a few above, they look like the 13.5 inchers. If yours are the short ones I have a set of 13.5 inchers (black springs), if you want to give them a try before forking out $850 for GAZIs $100 plus postage (probably $40). Then get some progressive cartridges for the forks. The shocks are not as good as the GAZIS I've put on, but with the extra bit of travel and decent forks should make a big difference.

    Cheers,

    Howard
