You may be interested in some background on MCCruise on your Harley. You probably haven't heard of us because until we were able to develop a new electric servo and a smaller computer, we chose not to try to build product for your bikes - the kits were not aesthetically appealing, because nothing can be hidden on thsoe bikes! Now, however, you can benefit from eighteen years of development and know-how poured into our latest offering for your bike.
The beauty of many Harleys is that post 2005 Dynas and Softails already have the factory cruise control fixture on the throttle body - and MCCruise uses it!
This is what it looks like with MCCruise connected to the throttle body cruise control fixture:
Back in 1997, we developed our 'cable interface unit' to connect SAFELY to the throttle body or carburettor on any bike, but this fixture offers an elegant alternative on your Harley.
So...what is MCCruise? It is a custom-built, model-specific, after-market, fully electronic cruise control for your bike, which will hold your bike's speed within +/- 1kph [0.6mph] of SET speed around 99% of the time! Front and rear brake shut it down, tach sensing simulates clutch activation and is really sensitive, so pulling the clutch in deactivates the cruise control virtually instantly. MCCruise is very superficial to the workings of the bike - it only connects in six places electrically: battery ground (negative terminal); tail-light connection (12 volt switched power & brake detection); brake pedal sensor (additional brake application sensor) and the ECM for speed & tach signal - AND there is no cutting of wires or soldering involved in the installation!

The switch has large buttons whioch are easily operated using a gloved hand - and are backlit for ease of use at night.

This is typical of some of the feedback we get:
'Tony, Frank & the staff at MC Cruise,
I would like to give you all some feedback as to how the operation of the cruise control you fitted to the Harley Davidson Sportster XL883L Super Low: After I picked up the bike from Mt. Waverley, I rode the bike to Wodonga (approx 350km’s [220 miles]) north along the Hume Hwy. I used the cruise control the whole way. I really put it through its paces to test it out; up & down hills, increasing & decreasing speed by using the buttons. The Cruise operated perfectly in every situation; it held its speed within 1 kph [0.6mph] with incredible precision. As an Auto Electrician with some 30 years experience in fitting all kinds of electrical accessories to vehicles of all makes & models, I have found some accessory kits are very poor in quality or look very tacky when added to some vehicles. Your fitting quality of the kits is very professional: the laser cut brackets that are tailor made to fit each individual bike & model are superb. The speed sensor on the front wheel [not needed on post 2005 Dynas and Softails, the cruise connects to the vehicles ECM for speed signal], blend in so well that I had to look hard to see it. The laser cut brackets are of high quality they actually appear to be part of the bike. The second kit I purchased from you was for the Yamaha FJR in which I fitted myself. Your fitting instructions are incredibly in depth, thorough & precise. They are easily followed; nothing was omitted or taken for granted for the fitter. I believe anyone could fit one of these Cruise controls if they had your instructions. That being said, I wish you all the best for the future as it was obvious to see that you have put an incredible amount of work & research into perfecting these Cruise Control systems & it has certainly paid off with the way they appear & operate. or this today for a Kawasaki GTR1400 Concours:
'Hi Tony & Frank,
I continue to be so grateful I found your company and installed your creation. The 2011 GTR has 82,000Kms [51,000 miles] on it almost all from long distance rides using the cruise. What a magnificent device.
I would add one other comment about McCruise. The US owners group (Concours) frequently talks about the need for factory cruise, but don’t seem to realize adding the McCruise is as good as, or better, on the GTR. The system is also much better than the automobile units folks have used to create cruise control because of the safety features on the computer and the other features.

...and finally:
'Hi Frank &Tony,
Firstly let me say that I am not in the habit of sending testimonials. In fact, this is the first I have ever written. Taking into consideration that I am over 60 years of age and I have had quite a bit of experience in dealing with businesses of all kinds over the years. In all that time I have never been motivated to express my satisfaction in writing.
When I first started to research cruse controls for my bike I was surprised to find an American site recommending a company (as they put it) based down under in Australia.
This company was obviously MCCRUISE.
I then made a phone call to MCCRUISE and I was to say the least pleasantly surprised with the friendly and helpful assistance I received over the phone. At the conclusion of the phone call you asked if I would like for you to send me the information on the cruise control including the fitting instructions, and this you did promptly.
It was some months later before I contacted you again and stated that I was wished to purchase the cruise control for my bike.
The cruise control kit was dispatched promptly and arrived as promised.
A friend and I (whom is a motorbike technician) unpacked the kit and found it to be complete. (This might not seem like a big deal to you however, I cannot tell you how many times I have received a do it yourself kit only to find some of it missing.)
We then proceeded to fit the cruise control and found the fitting instructions where to say the least extremely detailed and accurate.
It did however take us a bit longer to fit it then you suggested it should. (Maybe to much time talking and not working!!)
On completion of the installation we had some difficulties getting it to work. I then rang MCCRUISE and spoke with Frank who, with patience and an exceptional depth of knowledge of his product, talked us through the issues we were having.
I now use the cruise control regularly when riding and find it exceeds my expectations both in quality and performance.
All in all the experience I have had in dealing with MCCRUISE has been professional, helpful, efficient and has been a pleasure to deal with.
I would go on to wish you good luck in the future however, it is obvious that this company has not left anything up to lady luck.
Your more than happy customer,
