I stumbled across this new scheme by accident.
60 days a year sounds good to me I have two bikes that are over 30 years old and the cost of normal rego vs the amount of riding they get is ridiculous at the moment. .

We have a similar thing here called "Special; Interest" registration.
It's great. If your vehicle is over 30 years old and roadworthy then you can get a years rego for about $200 per year. You have to keep a logbook and are limited to 50 uses per year but that is no big deal. I have 2 bikes on this rego and have not come close to using up the 50 uses per year each bike. A normal rego on my Harley is about $560 per year.
They also have a thing called Historic rego which is dirt cheap, less than $100 bucks per year however you are only permitted to go on club rides. Not my cup of tea but it suits some.
Hi Guys,
I have six historic bikes and the rego cost is $51 per year. You have to be a member of a club that is registered for historic vehicles so that is another annual cost but minimal.
The club I am a member of has the club ride calendar, but also any other club that you are affiliated with allows you to ride as per their calendar, plus we have the maintenance rides and we have it in our constitution that allows us a ride of a 40km radius (80km), any further you need to let one of the committee members know via a text or phone call. But if you have a ride coming up that you want to go on then advise the club committee either at the meeting or via phone and we put it on the calendar.
This 60 day of personal use is additional but will need to be logged in a book. I would suggest that the pollies are looking at potentially increasing costs to us users and this is the trial for that purpose.
Cheers
