Two into ones will make good torque and power for road use. Short shots are OK but can rob mid range without a really good tune. I would suggest a PM to Andy (Terroristone). He knows a lot about this stuff and has proven what he does on the track. Cheers, TC

Well I've gone and went and done it! I've sold my fat bob and ordered an Iron (Black denim) from Peter Stevens. V&H two into one pipes, forward controls, stage one breather, stage two 883-1200 conversion & tuner, cant wait!

Well, picked up the bike 17/10/15, have now done approx. 1850 ks oops, didn't quite make it to its first service (1600ks) its at peter Stevens now, a few teething problems but they (hopefully) will sort them....I LOVE this thing! It goes, handles, and stops! should have bought one ages ago, sure I did like the Fat Bob, but man this thing is Fun! I have a few queries, who could recommend a decent tuner? My mate has one of these, actually a month older than mine but with almost the same, 1200 kit, cams etc. but he has V&H short shots, he didn't buy it from P.S either, but he bought it new, from ...... ..... they sent it away to have it dynode at approx. $600, cost , he wasn't happy said it made funny noise at high speed (he makes pizzas, so not technically minded) turned out it was pinging he took it back they changed the mapping, but he's still not happy, we took it to some one who does dyno tuning who said the rear cylinder is still running lean at lower revs, the bike is going back to the dealer again! so guys who do I get to dyno and tune my bike, it is running a bit ordinary farts and carries on when I back of the throttle, I also think its running a bit lean , but its not something I can do about it , I'm also not a teco and I don't have the equipment to tune it, it has a screaming eagle tuner by the way

Well, I've done about 3500 ks so far, done a trip around Tassie, love the bike, BUT Ihave a problem, firstly when starting the bike it would rev to about 2200 rpm then slowly go down to 1400, idling a bit high in my opinion, secondly, now this is the scary bit, riding allong minding my own bussines, come to a corner, throtel back, change down... the bike stays at 3000rpm! Now I have released the throtle, its not sticking I dont use the mechanical cruse control,I think they are a waste of space. One the first service (1600ks) I described these faults to the service manager, the service was done but the bike came back the same, they (Peter Stevens Dandenong) had done nothing to address these problems, unfortunatly the sticking scenerio is intermitant, so they take it for a 5 minute test rid the bike behaves. I took it back to them last week, complained, they said they replaced inlet manifold gaskets, it noow only revs to about 2000 on start up an quickly goes to idle at about 1000, but this afternoon on startup reved to exactly 2700 and stayed there for about twenty minutes it would excelerate but not throtle down, any clues

Okay...assuming its not a genuine sticky throttle cable, that symptom sounds familiar. Its an EFI machine problem and I 'think' its the AIC or Crank Position sensor or Throttle position sensor; although I'm leaning towards the AIC if memory serves me right. They can be cleaned with some carbby cleaner as its located in the roof of the throttle body behind the aitcleaner etc.

The key thing is the high idle bit....google that one.

sounds like IAC valve is stuck, should be a warranty job.

Thanks for the replies, this is an intermittent fault, but particularly annoying, especially since the bike is new, I will go back to the dealer armed with as much information as I can, might wait till the weather turns, don't want to be without it in the mean time!

I had the same symptom with my 1200CA sportster.  Mine was self-inflicted stupidity as I replaced the stock cleaner with a SE heavy breather and used the same bolts. The top left on hit the TPS and it would tend to stick after I have given it 100% throttle, but eventually would settle down till about a week ago when it shit itself altogether.

A simple test the TPS would be to disconnect it, you will get a n engine light and it may not be as smooth, but the problem should go away if it is the TPS.  They are about $50 to replace.

I forgot to mention the repalcement TPS had a different part number on it (mines a 2014), when I rang PS to make sure they had given me the right one they said it had been replaced by this one so if it is the TPS should be covered under warrentee.
