Hi all in Forumville. Tigger has been a lucky boy and has a new set of wheels and tyres to go on. New progressive monotubes for the forks and new oil to go in. New oil and filter for the motor, and new brake fluid throughout. Throw in some new chrome bolts and nuts here and there, and a bit of black and he will be a bouncin along in no time for the national meet in Moama.

New rotors for the front and some oil and a bit of bling. Progressives look like quality.

Wow this many bits fall off when you undo just two bolts!

New tyres to go on and old front wheel just taken off.

They look ugly with no front end on hey.

New tyres on the wheels from China's Roady.

A couple of bits will be black....

    Watch this space....

You are a busy boy !!! Tigger will be roaring !!!! Seeing you have the outer fairing off, double check the 2 silver brackets under the speakers for hairline cracks, I have had a couple snap off at the ends .. See you at Moama in a couple of weeks !!!!

Nice work hutch. Hopefully you're as good at putting stuff together as taking things apart (I'm not!). Look forward to seeing you and the bike in a couple of weeks

Thanks men. I will do a report on the progressives when back from the Moama meeting.

    Rotors on and balancing time.

I was going to powder coat the wheels but i think they look better with the two tone look.

Toying with the idea of orange reflective pin stripe on the rim. In between the section that is recessed, and then a gap where the black recessed casting is. I can always peel it off if it looks shit.

Discs on to balance the wheel.

Bloody front took 80 grams to balance.

I had everything on the rear to balance the lot together.

To check the balance, place a piece of tape on the tyre at the top, give it a spin and when it stops put another bit of tape on tho top. Repeat a dozen times and when you end up with tape all over

the tyre in different spots, I think shes good to go. P.S. the rear didn't need any weights! cool.

    Hi

    Quick question FLHuTCU
Are you running the different rotors front and rear on your new wheels?
Not that you will probably ever see the rear.

Cool thread & following with interest
    Hopefully more pics coming
    cheers

Ok, I finally recieved the parts ive been waiting for for the last 3 weeks from Harley, FFS., And black fork legs to boot. Lyndall gold pads for the new rotors and I'm back in action as you read this putting Tigger back together.

Progressive monotubes inside these babies now!

Supposed to be in stock they say, 1 week delivery they say, 3 weeks later i finally get them. Edge cut fork slider covers.

Just putting them in now, well soon.  After dinner and a turkey or two. Have to get my priorities right!

How the hell do you put a front guard on these forks without touching/marking the legs?

    To be continued...........

Answer.- rotate legs 180deg so the guard mount is away from the centre. Bring guard up and rotate legs back and slide guard in place.

TIP.  Put a footy sock over the legs to protect them whilst you are moving the guard up and in. Pull them off when ready to put the bolts in.

Yep tim went for a spin into town. Definately a lot firmer from the progressive monotubes and but seems to roll around corners about the same. I do think it seems connected to road better? you know, more road feel. More direct.  Will know more after we get back from the trip. The black forks and bling make it a bit fancier hey. A good balance of black, orange and chrome i hope.

With a bit more orange and a few extra bit Hutchy, your too can look like this!

Ok , Tigger Just needs a tub and then to put the comfy seat and top box on and big screen. Fill the bags and Wayno and I are off Monday morning sharp.

Did the service today, and here is a list of jobs and items done in this latest upgrade.

Oil, Penrite Diesel HPR 20w 60.

Black harley oil filter and used the scavenge puck for a total oil change.

Primary changed with Valvoline type F.

Clutch adjusted whilst the cover was off.

G/box still good with the stawberry thickshake.

New lyndall gold pads in the front

New brake fluid front and rear. H-D

New tyres front and rear. H-D

New rotors on front as before.H-D

New second hand wheels from China. H-D (China the forum member that is)

lower wind deflector/fork cover painted black.

Edge cut fork slider covers genuine H-D.

Fork legs painted two pack black.

Progressive suspension monotube cartridges installed in front forks.

Extended my muffler tips by 60mm under the end cap covers, stops the poppiness of the note and sounds a bit deeper as it no longer echoes in the cover.

New Chrome hardware in fork drain screws and axle cap nuts, new chrome rear rotor mount screws. new Chrome front rotor mount screws.

Well thats about it for this time around. It pays to have good tools and a couple of different size tourque wrenches for all the nuts, bolts etc. blue and red loctite is a must.

This mityvac is the go for doing brakes. so easy its childs play almost. ( my boy did the pumping and i did the filling).
