I don't believe anyone that owns a Harley is trying to turn there Harley into a Sports bike, quite the opposite. They want to stick it up the Sports bikes fraternity every now and then and then cruise home in a comfortable riding position There are two types of Harley riders, cruisers and bruisers and on a Harley a man or women can be both. Harley's throughout history have had a rich racing history with some of there models and continue to develop engines that provide more performance straight from the crate with bolt on performance and warranty. Yes a Sports bike is better at fast riding, it's design purpose, however this subject was and always will be, Don't under estimate a Harley.

Do I really have to comment. Lot of interesting people in this world. I'm laughing at the things that could be said. Straight roads out around Alice Springs.

A full grown roo stands taller than most riders on there bike, have had one bouncing beside me and I honestly felt my life was in his hand. I can only imagine coming up on a group. I've hit cow shit out around paulybronco way in the fog. Couldn't figure why the front and rear tyre let go until I got home. Shit everywhere. I imagine you wouldn't want to travel at dawn or dusk on the roads around your way due to all the critters on the side eating the greener grass. Alice Springs sounds like the real Australia, not the concrete jungle I work in at the moment bloodog.
Hi paulybronco, I secretly love you and wondered if you could PM me a picture of yourself. If you where younger and single it would be on. I love, love hate relationships.

Oils ain't oils. I personally never had to much oil loss in my Harley's. Both bikes I only ever did Stage2 mild upgrades. The Fatty even with 180000 klms plus didn't go through a lot of oil.
This topic wasn't so much about performance , more about punting a Harley around corners. You don't need a high performance bike to go around corners, you just need to work to the bikes capacity and keep the bike flowing from corner to corner without loosing to much speed.

Arien Ness won that race and went on to built his bussiness from there on his reputation of modified parts for Harley's. I reackon half the field must have been drunk and a few of those Harley's ended up as exports to Australia. Love this video.
