You need to know how you are going to tune it too. Map, auto tune or dyno.
I would recommend dyno and if so, run your ideas, thoughts or questions past the tuner.
Also as it's a 2007, it's out of warranty so you don't need to stick with SE cams, there are much better options out there

Ive done just over 30,000 on it im fairly handy with the tools so ill be doing the change myself and i run a screaming eagle tuner on it so im happy to do that side of things, But i play with things on 4 wheels most of the time so actually choosing the Cam is the hard part, and working out if its worth decking the heads to up comp etc

soooo many scenarios, just want her to be mean and nice down low pretty rare im up above sorta 140

any suggestions im more then happy to take on board

I rode my bike with newly installed 204 cams on the weekend for about 1,500 km but suffered significant clutch slip. Yday had the clutch helper removed (clutch whiz which is designed to lighten the clutch lever pull). So now just has the se clutch spring and it goes really well. Lots of grunt down low and pulls well up top too. There will be better performing cams for down low and better for up top too but the 204 seems to be a good compromise for doing things well everywhere.

Good results mate, atman makes some good cams and everything must be working right. It's rare to get over 100 hp with stock heads, she'll rip once you do them!!

HH has an up to 60% off sale this weekend, so I took a ride into the city this morning and picked up a set of 204 cams, bearings, adjustable pushrods and the needed gaskets. Only 15% off but it is better than nothing. Now do I do it myself or take it to the shop and get them done?

I would take pushrods back, get a credit, pull tank and reuse stock

They talked me to to the screaming eagle clutch Spring also. Sounds like it will be worth while.

The screaming eagle clutch spring is a very good cheap upgrade that can handle the increased power and torque so a wise move

Thanks, I wasn't sure if it was needed but for around $40 I thought it was worth it. Going to try and get it booked in for around the 22nd to get everything thrown in hopefully it wont cost the earth. Might have to wait for a bit for it to go on the dyno just going to have to settle for a canned map for a bit.

Choosing a cam can really do you head in with all the choices out there ,,, Thought I would post up the SE range of cams in stock 103's .. Basic info I know, but will give an idea of what individual  SE cams would be applicable, for individual riders riding habits... The info should also give an idea of what to expect in the stock 96's .. If you are doing major mods to you bike , other than a bolt in stock situation,, then I suppose its another ball game... Once you work out your riding habits, and where you want torque, its a matter of researching other cam manufacturers cams with similar chacteristics.. And now you start doing your head in all over again !!!!!!

I went down to the dealer today to drop off all the parts as I didn't want to ride down with the primary gasket in cardboard taped to my back pack. I will let you know what my initial thought are tomorrow evening. I am taking the bike to Tasmania in just over a week which im really looking forward to. My mate has a 2000 Night train that is a bit angry ( 88 pumped out to 96 with some other mods ) and easily pulls away from 103's so we will see then. Still want to get it Dyno'd to really get the best out of it but it will have to wait for now.
