hello all ,
My first ever question on site is regarding my 07 fatboy. I have just changed the headlight globe out for a +130% globe which is as it claims alot whiter and brighter, but can some one
tell me how to remove the little park light . Does it come out through the back or do I need to separate the glass from the bowl. Am trying hard not to break anything at the moment. I have
the manual but maybe Im blind, but I cant find anything in there for it. Hoping some one can enlighten me
problem solved. It turns out Im going blind. literally, I find im needing my reading glasses all the
time for small work. The answer for such a stupid question just in case theres someone whos too
scared or embarassed to ask the same question, it is turn until the lugs are free then pull out.
Mine was very stiff but with some patience I removed without damaging. Am going to replace
with a white/blue upgrade
Hey Tom, just wondering what brand globe you fitted?. Notice mine looks a bit yellow and not that great at night. Also, any mods required to the wiring/plug to handle the extra current it will draw?
Cheers mate.
Fat Tom
Buy yourself a little tube of dielectric electrical grease/lube. Dont use spray can stuff as its messy. It looks and feels just like vaseline. I allways poke a bit in thr bikes light sockets, bike wiring plug connectors, fuse bases ect. Its made for just that. Keeps water /moisture out, stops corrosion and makes globes, connector plugs ect, easy to pull apart/out. It also an oxygen depletor so stops corrosion on the pins in polugs ect, Its clear colored and not greasy like auto grease and doesnt run or leak out of connectors. You will get it from auto electrical shops, repco, ect.
I bought it from AUTOPRO. it is a standard car park light comes in a set of 2. I asked for the white or blue light type .Cant remember the brand. all up a great upgrade from standard , mind you $116 for main globes (set of 2) +$12 for park light =$128.
I probably should have gone LED route but wasnt sure about if the kit would tuck away easy. Anyway I gave a mate the spare globes so if you look at it like that and went halves its a pretty cheap and noticeable upgrade
that is a straight forward plug in fit that Im told will not draw any if not much extra current.
cheers Tom
Thanks for that mick44. Will do
Cheers Fat Tom, I have been thinking about that for a while now as the HD headlight globe is a standard H4 type as used in most car headlights. I'll check out what is available
Thanks Loopie, they are made by Narva correct?
