G'day fellas, here is a bit of a look of my '05 Night Train.  Picked her up in Jan this year with screamin eagle slip-ons, Kuryakin air cleaner and street slammers.  I didnt realize just how hard the Harley modification bug would bite me when I brought it...

How it was when I brought it:

First up was a set of black BUB sidecutters, wild-1 8" black drag bars, S&S air cleaner and a ton of other bits and pieces - tank lift, coil relocate etc and shitloads more small touches.

The next major round of mods now on the go starting with a set of 14" JSR custom choppers "T-rex" apes.  I chose these for the forward curve in the uprights that give a more aggressive look, and also follows the angle of the forks before curving verticle.

Also doing a 200mm rear end conversion with 20mm belt & pulley, 07' night train polished wheel, kustomwerks fender and LePera seats.

This is were she is at right now:  over the weekend ground off the struts and fitted up the new fender to mark the holes for the seat, indicators and tail lights.  Got my first real look at the new profile of the bike - tall front bars, lifted tank and low rear end gives it a distinct triangle shape.  Still need to do the rear wheel and pulley etc and when complete will fill out the new fender.  pipes are off from the clutch cable swap, might ditch the heat shields and go with black heat wrap - no benefit i know, i just really dig the look.

Mate that's looking 05 train, obviously been well looked after. JSR make some nice bars, best of all is the price. Like them pipes too, wrapping them would suit the style you going for.

Keep up the good work and pics coming

Started stripping it down for the 200 conversion.  bloody hell what a complete pain is the ass!  Seams for every thing that needs to be done, something else needs to taken off the bike!  Good fun though.  1st thing was to strip down the primary drive to swap the belt for a 20mm wide one (off a 2006 FXST).  Ive never done anything like this before but thankfully youtube and online forums are a gold mine of info.  Having the service manual is a must too for a novice like me!  I'll admit I did run into a few difficulties (like a snapped inner primary bolt), but nothing I cant rectify.

So with the inner primary back in place and a bolt waiting for me to grab an ez-out bolt extractor I swapped over the swingarms to a 2007 variety (came with the wheel).  The only difference is the brake calliper mount is different to suit the wider tyre.  I think im going the have to hit the back corner of the calliper with a grinder to get it all to fit, but thats easy enough too.  Bolted up the new 20mm pulley to the new wheel to start measuring and aligning the belt.  need to determine what spacers i am going to need to get it all lined up.

    Yeah... got shit everywhere.

Mate what do you reckon it cost to convert the rear wheel without the wheel

Cheers all. As far as the costs go simmac18, the most $$ part was the fender - purchase price, getting it over here from the states and painting... maybe around the $1300 mark. but I was hunting that particular fender and it took me a while to track one down, so there are a ton of other (cheaper) options in that area. I've tried hard not to tally up all my receipts but the other main bits are pulley (20mm) around $285, belt (20mm) i think they are around $150?, the seat, lots of options here too, i think mine was somewhere around the $600 - $650 mark including the pillion pad an then its all your fluids, gaskets etc and any tools you might need on top of that.

Well done Maeltrol ... as I have said to Squid and others this Bike Customising can be a serious addiction at times , Lol ... but when you get to go for a blast when the Weather Gods are shining on Ya on your finished ride or when you are just sitting back admiring the fruits of your labour it just seems to make sense ... well to a point ... I just haven`t got to that point yet , Lol .
