Cruiser customising - thumbs down

Most of the time I've bought parts in the USA, I use m&m cycles or ebay. Never had any dramas with good service all round.

So I was wanting to buy handlebars (2 x sets) but m&m didn't sell what I wanted. I found what I wanted on ebay but a banner on this site (google advertising banner?) advertised cruiser customising with a 55% discount on international shipping. So I looked at their site and the two sets of handlebars I was after are supposedly available in stock and will ship to me faster than other ebay traders and also much cheaper with the discount. So I go ahead, order and pay. I then pull my handlebars and gear off in preparation as its only two weeks tops until I get my handlebars.

Three days later I get an email saying one of the handlebars isn't in stock, they don't have an eta from their supplier and they won't send me the other handlebar as they only send orders complete and together. I then get updated (automated?) emails each day giving me new eta for when they will receive the other handbags with a date in September and each day I get further updated emails pushing the eta a day further away each time. Sounds like automated emails and doesn't inspire confidence.

So I send this mob an email suggesting that what theyve done is pretty crappy service and they should simply send me the handlebar they do have in stock. They say they'll do this first thing the next morning. I then found another online store that sell both bars, and this shop was quick to confirm they had both bars available and would combine postage costs. As i wanted to compare both bars before choosing which one im gonna use, i decided i wanted both sets of handlebars delivered to me at the same time and sooner rather than later. So i thought ill use the other shop which is on ebay. So on the same day just an hour or two later, i emailed cruiser customising again, asking them to just cancel my entire order and refund me. Three days later I get an automated email from them saying they have just shipped the one set of handlebars for me that they had in stock. Later that day I get another (non automated) email saying they can't cancel my order as one of the sets of handlebars has been shipped.

So I email them again, tell them they're a bunch of twats (in a nice way) and ask them to cancel the other part of my order (their current eta to me would have been in Oct at earliest and probably much later). So they cancel that part of the order and tell me my refund will occur in a few days and send me a revised invoice. The revised invoice charges me the full price on shipping and disregards the 55% discount which got my attention in the first place.

Sorry for the long post but I hate online traders who sell stuff, tell you they have something in stock and give you a window when you'll receive it, take your money only to be full of shit and stuff you around because they don't have the stock and don't know when they can get it. These are Internet stores who should have a decent stock/inventory system as part of their software ffs!  This store has all these fancy auto emails, eta info on their web site and all the appearances of a professional and organised shop but the real measure of customer service, ie delivering on a sale, is shit. This same issue has stung me before with christmas presents I had bought online for others and that (Australian) business received a personal visit from me. Will never use such businesses again.

    Rant over.

Thanks for the tip. I've had my share of crap overseas service. It stings being so far away and sweating on emails etc.

Never had a problem with them, very quick delivery in the past, unlike some over there.

Been using ‘Cruiser Customizing’ for the past 2 ½ years. So far I have been happy with the service and the prices. Yes I have had to wait for a while for one or two items. But I place my orders around 4 weeks in advance when buying from O/S. I’m ready to place a bit of an order again next month, but seeing as the Oz dollar is crap against the green back I’ll price up the gear domestically before making my mind up.

Last contact I had with them, they blamed the part manufacturer. But as I paid them, the buck stops with them. It's pretty simple that you don't sell stuff and claim you have it when you don't and have no idea when the manufacturer is making the next batch

I have used Cruiser Customising many times in the past & in fact I have an order sitting with them at the moment, I am and have always been very happy with the service that I have received

I purchase many items from around the world on a regular basis and have had poor service at times but Cruiser Customising would have to be at the top of the scale for customer service

I even had one order were I was ordering Harley & Victory parts together in the same order, they held the order and sent me an email to confirm that I hadn't made a mistake with my order, that's service..........most companies would just send what you ordered & when it arrives on the other side of the world & its wrong tuff luck

I am extremely happy with there service & happy to recommend them to anyone who is looking to purchase parts & accessories

    regards
    Rod Clark.

I used them around 10 years ago for quite a few parts and had no problems.
Quick and efficent back then, cant say what they are like now.

I've used them many years ago without problems so earlier this year I bought a solo Mustang seat on sale. No problems with the order or delivery time.

I'm now going to get a pillion seat to complement the solo for two up riding.

I suppose it depends on what you order and read the delivery time frames.

Unfortunately you got stuck with the isolated problem.

We have purchased from JP cycles, Custom Cruising and Revzilla and Revzilla win the best service award hands down, they deliver on time or early every time!
