Can anyone help me with how to get my black ceramic surfaced heat shields on the vance & hines 2into2 shortys? got my bike second hand the pipes looked great- for a week.... they're now faded & streaked. The vance hines people suggested rubbing with a popsicle stick. I gave it a go and it seems like its just scraping a black powdery layer off. Am thinking they've been sprayed with some sort of paint before sale. any suggestions on whether to continue rubbing back- repainting or what to do would be really appreciated

 

Just powder coat your heat shield mat black, done it to several sets of heat shield no dramas
