Hey All 

Any helmet that meets the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) are now officially approved for use in Victoria. (ECE22.05)

If a face shield or visor is fitted to the helmet, it must meet the same requirements specified in the standard for the helmet to which it is attached.
So if an Aus Standard helmet has an ECE approved visor on it, then it's a no-go. If an ECE approved helmet has an ECE approved visor on it, then you're all sweet.


Still weird, you can have an open face helmet with the cheapest pair of sunnies you can buy, and that's OK.

Too weird for me. Why can't they just do a national law? It's a bloody crazy can of worms.

So that's Vic and Qld that have the same rules. That's a start.

Just don't get caught riding in another state with a ECE helmet.

I'm just wondering if you are a vic license holder riding through Canberra/ nsw how does that work?

You have to follow the rules for the state your in.

So the Dot approved is not legal in all states. But don't let that stop ya's.

IM PRETTY SURE THERE ARE PLANS FOR BOARDER GATES WITH ARMED GUARDS. THEY WILL BE CHECKING VISAS, ROAD WORTHIES, ETC. YOU WILL ALLSO BE ABLE TO OBTAIN INTERSTATE RIDING PERMITS AND COMPULSORY TRAVEL AND HEALTH INSURANCE, JUST INCASE YOU HAVE A STACK. CAUSE AS SOME ONE FROM AN OTHER STATE YOU WOULDNT BE ABLE TO USE THE HOSPITAL,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,U GOTTA USE UR IMAGINATION,,,,,,,OR DO U?

Don't say it too loud Duge, the ACT government is looking for more ideas to milk $$ out of anyone and everyone. They won't pay you for your ideas either.

The helmet issue is ridiculous. I guess we will live in hope that common sense catches up with reality sooner rather then later.
