Insurance and slip on pipes

Looking around for insurance, do every year, to save a buck.  Insure My ride is cheapest for me.  Fine print states no cover for me if I have made illegal mods.  Technically a slip on pipe that does not have AU approval is illegal.  Thus an out for insurance co.  bloody hell, that would mean 98% of us are uninsured.  Any one with any experience claiming with a slip on pipe?  Thats the only mod, just a bit of a note to the ears!

When I asked about "mods" I was told they usually refer to things like cutting the frame and rewelding it and such.
Most insurers allow you to ring them (or have a webpage) so you can add things like pipes and such. I can't see them winning in a court of law if you've told them and they've taken your money knowing.
And the fact IMR is you're cheapest option shocks me since they were almost double most other insurers for me last time I checked, despite being insurered with them (no claims) years before.

Another forum mentioned Swann insurance.  Thought they were taken over years ago.  They will accept slip on pipes, and they are nearly half the price of Insure My ride.  Bloody beaut.  No worries about pipes and Arse hole assesors.  Bloody glad I saw them mentioned.

    Cheers

There are a few threads on insurance if you want to use the search button. I used to find Aami were cheapest for me and they had nil issues with basic mods. I'm now with youi who are cheaper again and they also have no issues with basic mods.
