    G'day

The 2009 XL883L that I bought a couple of months ago has about 9,000 kms and I have not idea of the service history in recent times. Anyway the service manual has arrived so it is time to get my hands dirty and I was going to work throught the "maintenance" section.

Is it worth doing the fork oil as well and what about the brake fuild? It seems to be riding fine.

Anything I should do that is not listed in the service schedule ? ie replace the plugs, air filter etc

    Cheers

    FA

By my service book for 2010 Sportster Models:

    Plugs get changed at 8,000 - 24,000 - 40,000 klms
Air cleaner gets serviced every 8,000 klms (replace if dirty or cleaned if its reusable)
Brake fluid flushed every 2 yrs
Fork oil replaced every 80,000 klms

Do it yourself and save a fortune. Check out youtube for how to videos.

If it was me I would do a full service and also change the brake oil, its not hard .
