I have fitted a sissy bar and have bought a pack to fit on for trips away but I am buggered if I can get the velcroe tight enough to hold the bag in place. Is there a a trick to this?  Suppose I can just strap it on with some rope or occky straps.

Have you got a picture of what you are trying to do?

As well as the velcro I use an occy strap over the top of the bag and then under the rack.

yep thats the one.

I have a cheap Ventura bag (about $150) with no velcro where it goes over the sissy bar. I use a couple of ocky straps to stop it from moving, works fine for me.

I recently went to my friendly Harley shop with the intention of getting a rack bag, I was looking at an RJays or Dririder. The Dririder had sold out, and I wasn't totally happy with the Rjays, tried it on the bike.
I went down to the expensive section where they keep the T- Bags and they had also sold out. Then I was shown the genuine Harley rack bags and ended up getting a 2 in one for a pretty reasonable price. Large one for big trips, small one for day rides for camera etc. You can stack them if you wish as well. What sold me was that it fits the bike perfectly and is a quality product. Another little bonus is the nice little chrome anniversay badge on the front of the bag. Cost about $340 with discount if I remember.
I have been looking for ages, and am totally happy with this product. Missus is wrapped as she can now fit the hair dryer and makeup mirror.........tc

They all look pretty damn good, will I assume they just slip over the pad and the base of the bag sits on the luggage rack ??
