Sorry for fartarsing around earlier...too many red snakes and  a bit too much cordial last nite.

I bought a mighty fine chromed billet aluminium 21 inch front wheel with a set of stainless steel spokes that will take either a 120 or 130mm wide tyre.from a mob in the States called "HD Wheels" they are in Los Angeles and the guy who runs the show goes by the name "Andre".

The wheel is the ducks guts and I am very happy with it. The downside is that it was fricken expensive. There are however options, for one there are certain websites that will sell you a steel rim that has been welded and then chromed for a hell of a lot less money (mabe a coupla hundred bucks). Alot of bikes including Harleys used to use these type of rims as a matter of course. Trouble for me was that it was hard to get info on who made them, lots of people had em but no one seemed to know where they came from. Made me think they were Chinese and I am Alergic to things made in China. Maybe they are actually good quality and are not even made in China I dunno.

VPW do have wheels available(which seem quite reasonably priced) and the guy who runs the show there is a regular on this forum.

Oh yeah, I prefer a front wheel that matches the back as well. However when you look at say a 2007 FXST for instance, they came out with a cast back and spoked front.

If you want a 200 x17 rear wheel cheap, reckon youd be able to jag one on ebay easy enough. 120 x 21inch are a rarer creature though.

    Cheers

Another option I was thinking about was having a breakout rear wheel narrowed down to a 200 Similar to what I have seen with cast jap bike mag wheels widened where they machine it down and weld a wider rim on just fit a narrower rim.

May have found a solution there is a place in aus that cuts and welds alloy wheels. Will take a breakout rear wheel over some time soon and see if he can do it.

Hey independent - that is what I was also thinking of doing. I rang a few places & they all said it couldn't be done. Apparently due to safety reasons. Let me know how you go mate. The breakout wheels are nice & there seems to be a few around for sale at good prices.
