Hi all,

had my rocker covers in the shop to get powder coated and they came back painted wrinkle black. Not what I wanted at all. Not only that, it looks shite. Has anyone had rocker covers painted wrinkle black? Can you post up some pics so I can compare what I have?! Much appreciated! See the pics of what I got back.....

 

 

 

Yer that's wrinkle black ,not sure if that's powder coated Why not do it yourself. Vht wrinkle black in a spray can

I just used the VHT. Bit hit and mis. I will try it again Maybe I didnt get the application correct. One side of the starter motor was good the other side really didnt wrinkle that much.

If its powder coat your going to have a hell of a job removing it all
Ive used Harley Wrinkle finish paint and it comes up real well
its even and does not look anything like the pics you have posted

That looks like paint that has just had a coat of paint stripper over it . More like a bad reaction to something then an effect.

I'd agree with Indy, looks like it's a fail in some way or other....

That is what happens with vht if it is slightly thicker in one spot big wrinkle line , coats need to be Evan and at least 3 in a cris cross pattern and fairly dry between coats and takes a few days to dry propley Baked in the sun or oven helps too

Can they do Black Wrinkle Powdercoat?

Apparently yes you can buy the powder of eBay USA. ,not sure if what powder coaters do it in Aus though Will have ask my powder coater next time I go there

To be honest, I think it looks sh!t. I asked for black coated rocker covers, and they came back painted wrinkle black.. Still pretty soft....should strip easy enough. just doesn't look right and disappointing..

Has anyone powder coated there covers to match the rest of the motor?

So why not take it back and crack the chits with them?

At the very least name them, so I can be sure to avoid them in the future.
