For those looking for a bit more out of the 103 engine with out going over the top - here is what I did to mine and have to say very impressed with the finnished product.
I recently installed the HD Stage 3 SE kit with 259E cams and then had Deano at Thunder Tech in Mundaring ( WA ) perform a Dyno Tune and custom map to complete the package.
Result was very pleasing to say the least. The mapping of the ECU was done at two throttle increments - 100% throttle and the most important - 20% throttle because after all - 90% of most peoples riding is done with the first 20% of throttle, makes sense.
The level of attention to detail from Deano at ThunderTech was excellent and the results speak for themselves. The throttle responce was the stand out difference along with the almost electric smooth delivery of the Torque from right off the bottom. As I tend to short shift the first 4 gears when city riding the custom tune was perfect. On the open road ( which I tend to do a reasonable amount ) the roll on power and torque for quick over taking was considerably improved.
The only thing it didnt really change was my fuel economy - 208ks till the fuel light come on after mixed hwy and city riding, but hey, more than happy to throw fuel at the bugger for the increased performance !!!
