Does anyone here have S & S Slip on mufflers , was wondering how they preform and noise they produce

I have S& S slip ons on my 08 Fatboy,love the sound,performance is fine as well,only problem is getting to the brake pads but thats another story.

I have the S&S tapered slip ons. At first they were loud however have settled in very nicely. This leads me to beleive there may be some fiberglass packing in them??

They have a really nice deep sound to them, no harshness at all and the bike definitly goes better with them.

My bike is standard however I do run 13.8:1 Xieds and cant be happier!

My 2009 has the S&S pipes and the previous owner said he "repacked" them to make them quieter, have to assume he is telling the truth as they are not loud

Mine were quite loud and I had to wear earplugs or suffer the concequences,

But I recently had a dyno tune done and now I do not wear earplugs at all,

It seems to have quitened the bike down and people who I visit now do not hear me coming up the road unless I want them to.

Probably has something to do with being able to be in a higher gear,lower revs.???
