    G'day Guys,

I'm looking at buying a HD that looks sexy but will also allow my other half to come on rides. A nice second-hand might fit.

I know pretty much nothing about bikes. I straight out admit that.

Looking for some blokes with the knowledge to give me some info. It'd be much appreciated. :)

So buy anything but a Sportster, as long as it has a two up seat. Fatbob, Streetbob etc. For long hauls you may want a tourer....or not. Newer is better. But new is usually a bit of a rip off.
Depending on the size of your wife (and the condition of the roads you travel) you may need better shocks.

Best advice, pick a Harley you like, then ask questions.

not meaning to be a smart arse but if you know nothing about bikes then maybe think twice before putting your missus on the back. All bikes feel completely different with a pillion on board. You want/need to be really comfortable and confident before putting someone else's life in your hands. Just my 2 cents.

My daughter got her Ls the other day, gonna get her a ferrari, they look sexy.

If you know nothing about bikes don't buy a harley straight up and as said get your missis to follow, preferably in a ute.
She may need to pick you up.

Way to encourage people on the forum guys........ Mewshew just take your time and ride as many different models as you can and ask as many questions as you can. Just don't rush in and get you aspirations mixed up with your abilities. But as long as you are fully licenced there is NO REASON you shouldn't look at a HD. They are the easiest bikes i've ever riddin.

    Enjoy the journey mate.

    G'day Jim,

I fell in love with the '72 when it came out and was going to buy one because I love old school looks,
but thinking of all the reasons I should get one, I realised I wouldn't be happy with the power once my missus was on the back.
Now, I only weigh 70kgs and my missus only 60kgs so it shouldn't be much of a problem but I decided to get the new
Low Rider instead with the 1690cc engine.
Best thing I did, love the power and don't even noticed the extra weight when my missus is on the back.

    Hope that helps.

Trolls aside, you need to ride the bike and feel comfortable on it yourself first.... I did have a jap cruiser before I bought my Harley. Didn't feel comfortable on the jap bike and therefore didn't even entertain the idea of taking anybody on the back, but the Harley is an awesome ride and can't wait to get a nice day or two so I can take the missus and even the kids on the back for a spin...
