Anyone know what getting a 20" sissy bar (raw steel) should cost?
the guy who makes them offers them in either raw steel or black powdercoat.. while I dont like the black, I have no idea what chroming would possibly cost (or where to go but thats another question), are we talking $100 or are we talking $1000?

Any advice is appreciated..

There is not many Chrome Platers left in Melb, The EPA make it really hard for them, I use Sterling Platers in Waterdale Rd Heidelberg, There a large Industrial Plater so there very Quick and the price is right, Most of the small shops charge to much

Just remember that Powder coating can hide any flaws, Chrome Plating however is another story.

Thanks guys, yes I rang one local guy who apparently specialises in Harley chrome, he pretty much wasnt interested in the job on the grounds of unless he could treat/polish the steel before it was turned into a sissy bar he couldnt guarantee it would be flawless.. and as a result wasnt interested in the job!

Know a bloke who is restoring bikes aplenty.

He reccommends a place called "Classic chrome" in Newtown Vic, ph 52212881.

He is meant to be quite excellent.

Chroming is labour intensive thats why its expensive
