Breakout 2inch Fork extensions

    Hi Fellow Riders,

Don't know if I read it on here or on another forum, but I read about fork extensions for the Breakout. I see you can buy them from the states and apparently they do lift the pegs a slight amount. (I live on top of Mt Mee QLD. so a normal ride turns into a slow peg scrape all the way down and then back up again)   If anybody knows about these or has done this, I do have a few questions..

    1. Will insurance cover my bike.  2. How hard are they to fit

    Cheers

I had this done at Quick Fix Harley Mildura, the owner there Gavin has done a few now, it does improve steering and raises the scapy bits too. I think Gavin said he uses new Wide Glide tubes for that extra 2".
It's what there doing in Harley shops in Aus and the USA.
I have insurance through Harley and it's all covered.

RE insurance, tell your insurance company provided it's legal they should cover you.

Swapped my fork tubes out for the Wide Glide tubes= they add 2.5" (60mm). Additional height DRAMATICALLY improves lean angle.
Had to replace jiffy stand with a std softail to compensate for the additional height.

While I had every stripped I upgraded front suspension - (single rate springs based on my weight + Ricor Intiminators + AMSOIL 10W fork oil) BEST MOD I'VE MADE - COMPLETELY TRANSFORMED THE BIKE!!!!!!!!

IMO - No implication on insurance - everything is legal

Been promising to post a write up on the mod with a few photos but I've just been too busy at work - BUT I will get to it

    Cheers

Gidday BradnAlly ... living on top of Mt Mee ... now there`s a piece of Paradise ... always interested to hear of different work shops ... any chance you can let us know who is doing the work for you .

Recently moved about 20 minutes west of Amberley Air Base ... beautiful quite country out here compared to Logan where we were , Lol ... but a little further away from the everyday things ... my normal go to guy is down Coomera way and will still go to him for the big stuff but if someone was closer buy who had a good rep then always handy to know .

    Cheers .

    Hey TJU,

have gone through Morgan and Wacker as the bike is still under warranty, least if it goes downhill I can try to blame them..

    Funny you should say Amberly, heading over there tomorrow night with the wife and kiddies to the in-laws, (Brother in law in the RAAF)...{ex RAN Myself}

As I said, I'll paste the foto's and let you all know how it goes plus the cost if your interested..

Here are the pics of the wide glide tubes on my Breakout, does it make a differance, Hell yea, does it make it handle any better, don't know, but what I do know is that it takes a few rides to realise that you aren't going to scrape pegs on every intersection, or tight corner......

To look at it by itself, you probably wouldn't even notice that it has had the tubes extended by 2.1/2".......
