Hey everone, thought I should say hello before I start popping up here and there on the forum.

I picked up my first HD in Dec last year, an 04 FXDL, which was like a dream come true after riding jap bikes of all sorts over the last ten years - it's the biggest bike I've owned yet and so far I'm loving it and the community that comes along with it.

I came across this place when looking for some things and tips to make a 1900km return trip in September a bit easier, and came here while trying to find a way to stop my bloody footpeg rubber turning upside down everytime I go on a decent ride (tried hairspray, glue, no luck yet), and I thought I'd stay and look around!

I've attached a pic of my bike, not too much customization yet but still beautiful.

    Welcome Josh.
Love the bike. Any idea what the rise and pull back are on those bars? Also how tall are you? Im looking at changing the bars on my 07 fatboy to something like you have on yours but getting a few conflicting reports on rise, pull back etc. Im not that tall coming in at about 5'8 in the old scale. Thanks in advance and enjoy the forum. Lots of people on here with lots of good info.

Cheers binnsy, they're nice looking bars but they came with the bike, all I know is that they're Burleigh T Bars and that's about it.

We're pretty similar in the height department too, I'm 5'7 and find them really comfortable.. tossing up swapping them out for some mini apes but want to try before I buy!

The only downside of the bars I have is that they're over 1" thick, which looks good but really limits your accessories as I can't find anything with a 1.5" mount

Welcome Josh, nice bike. have to agree with Filpdog, I am the same as you, had only riden jap bikes for 14 years until March when I bought my street bob. You'll get used to forward controls really quick and it's heaps more relaxed!

welcome Josh Buy a bottle of Loktite 401 instant adhesive. (superglue)
clean off the hairspray and the other glue you tried and put 5 drips on the metal bit of the peg and put 5 or 7 drips in the rubbery bit. Push the rubber back on and bobs your uncle

Welcome, those pegs look like std Harley mount, different pegs i.e. non slip ones can be had from approx $80 direct from Harley.

Thanks Bilko, no idea - going to try the locktite route first and failing that I may swap my passenger pegs over with those ones and see what happens
