Finally got delivery of V&H tuner today, Thanks Griffin Custom Motorcycles. So out to the garage I go to fit it up.Bit excited at this point.
All fitted, values entered easy peasy. Put seat back on get ready to ride, not so easy!!
Its a bloddy tight fit after sticking all that gear under there, 07 fatboy. Finally wriggled and jiggled shit around and somehow the seat went back on. Not an easy task, did I miss something? Anyone else had this problem as well?
Have a look at how this bloke installs his.. When i got mine, the computer lifted out and there was a deeper tray that everything fitted into. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOG7pq68p7E
Thanks softailsteve, will have another look and try his method, see if it works. No deeper tray in mine like yours though. Got a pic of your set up?
Hi Daggs. I think in the end simplicity and a bit of cost thrown in the mix. No mucking around with dyno etc. and they get a pretty good rap from other users. My bike doesnt have and never will have any heavy mods ie cams etc. so I wanted a simple solution. HD flogged the hell out of the screamin eagle but I couldnt see the value in it. Im pretty green re HD stuff but if worst came to worst I could change it.
After fitting it and dialing in the values, I went for a squirt today for a few Ks and was quite surprised. The engine certainly is more responsive, its not gunna pull my arms off but it runs a lot crisper. Sounds better and is just all round a better perfroming engine. Thats my opinion anyway. Im happy I chose it as it has done what I wanted it to do. Albeit a bitch to tuck under the seat on this particular bike.
Further riding will no doubt throw more light on the subject, but so far they get my vote for performance and value for money.
