essential is hard to list, you need so many, most people have gathered these tools over a lifetime.

But if I had to say I would start with:

    workshop manual,
    torque wrenches,
    bike lift,
    quality torx bits,
    quality imperial in-hex bits,
imperial spanners (ratchet spanners are the go),
    imperial allen keys (ball end)
    socket set,
also metric spanners and allen keys.

Finding quality imperial sockets seems to be pretty hard these days, seriously couldn't find any. Had to buy supercheap unless I wanted to re-buy half my tools as I could only find them in huge sets.

Didn't check Total Tools, got the hex tools kinchrome from Bunnings, but neither repco, Bunnings, or autopro had an imperial rail of sockets, only full sets with imperial, metric, and cheapo 3/8 and 1/2 drive ratchets. Supercheap to the rescue! They had more imperial than metric, although it's all cheap and nasty.

You need to go to proper tool shops that tradesmen go to not handyman supermarkets like bunnings etc.
    Blackwoods, AIS, gasweld

Just wondering do we need T45, T47 or T50 of the Torx drivers for our Harleys?

Was fitting the engine guard bar last night. My Torx set was only up to T40, not big enough for those screws ( I also found a lot of same size screws just below seats.
Did a search online for Torx kits. Most have T45,T50 etc, but only very few have T47

    Many thanks
