Folks. Have a quick admission. Dropped into ABW just to get a couple of things looked at on the Ultra for a ride coming up in Sept.
Traded mine in for a later model low mileage higher spec'd M8. Mechanics transferred all my comfort bits, screen, backrest and highway pegs over while I waited. I'm very happy. What do you think?

good job steelo, nothing like a change to spark up the day.cheers.

Nice one Steelo, even if it isn’t red. You better do some round-Australia trip reports in the next year!

We do love Steelo, even if his bike colour choices are conservative.

Good stuff Steelo, hope you enjoy it mate. I've got 12k kms on my MY17 SGS now and love it. Hopefully do something about the lack of noise on mine soon, thinking S&S Grand National slip ons so not too loud.
Have a good trip, doing Tassie in Oct. myself, not too long to go.

    cheers

Larry. You are marked for a very special surprise.. Thanks PB, Jaffee and DG for kind words.
Did a 300km run down to Victor Harbor via Hahndorf, Meadows, coffee at Mypolonga and along one of the greatest 50km biking stretches of road from Delamere to Victor. 5 of us, 4 Harleys and Mick on the R3. Had lunch at the Victor Hotel and home via Ashbourne, Hahndorf and Balhannah. Bit windy and cold but the heated grips took care of that. I even had to crank them up to 3 for a couple of K's there. The roads were full of bikes going in every direction.
Bike was terrific, still a bit jittery through the suspension, (I thought something was amiss on the other bike so maybe it's normal) very smooth engine compared to the 103, powerful, almost no vibration and with a great exhaust note through the SE pipes.  Just seems? to be a bit more economical. The brakes were excellent. I enjoyed using the Boombox to play songs from the USB into my helmet and the nav had a great image in 3D. The one time I tried to voice in a destination, it couldn't understand me (or I'd done something wrong). I do understand what you have all been saying about the wind splitter screen distorting the road going through the twisty bits but I'm getting used to not looking "though" it.
Picture of the crew taken at the lookout at the end of the Delamere Stretch overlooking the Bluff and Encounter bay and new bike outside the Bakery at Mypolonga

Folks. I wonder if you can help

I am exploring options to enhance the intercom on the new bike. (some ridiculous notion of wanting to speak to the missus)
I do know there is a VOX facility but I never had much luck with it on the 14 and didn't experiment.

I need a RH switch pack for 2014 and up Tourer which includes the PTT (push to talk) button. Part number 71500130B. Buy swap or trade.

Once I have that, I understand a dealer software upgrade will allow the functions of the LH cruise control and RH PTT buttons to be reversed.

I can pop the buttons off and swap them.

I could be interested in the the LED back lit versions. Part number 71500248B
or the CB radio unit which usually included the RH switch pack.
