    Hi guys,

I want to put mini apes on my 2013 fatboy. The dealer says all cables need to be changed but ive heard it can be done wih standard cables.

The HD mini apes are 10" & i would use my standard risers  which are1 1/4" high

The dealer wants a fortune for all cables so im hoping i can get away with the standard ones

Has anyone done it with standard cables?  - Thanks

Maybe if you can get a set to hold up against your bike. Also maybe get a piece of string and run length of you cables ( All) and take measurements. Then ask anyone that has them what size cables they have. There may even be a chart to look at,

I know mongrel on here did this to his 2010 fatboy and no need to change cables. He used genuine Harley mini apes and nil issues whatsoever. And I have seen his bike so not just saying this third hand. I thought his mini apes may have even been 12 inch ones but it any event you won't have issues with 10 inch ones.

thanks fatbat - I saw the thread where Mongrel did his bars. the only thing is his cables were braided so they had been changed from standard & I don't know if they are extended.

    Just spoke to mongrel.
His are Stock length cables on 12" minis.
He'll probably be selling them if you're keen. He's in ACT area but bars could be easily packaged for safe and cheap freighting. 12 inch ones better than 10 inch ones which would barely be worth the effort

good on ya fatbat, that info helps me out heaps. im really after black bars (fatboy lo) but if you can let me know how much mongrel wants for them - I could always get em powdercoated.
    thanks again mate
