the frames in good condition,the tabs that hold the rear struts needed a bit of work,the re-welded tank mounts needed cleaning up a bit,,it had been windowed so l cut a bit of plate&welded it in ,, should have taken photos before and after but didnt,the frames ready with a round 58 swing arm fitted,and painted,

i've taken some photo's over the months, see if l can make something out of them to put up here,,
 

l had 1 complete wheel and 1 hub both needed to be re-built, they are( mid star) hubs
,they came out after the (star hub) about 1967 and were used till harley went to disc brakes,
so this will be a drum brake bike..

both wheels are finished, removed the rust from the inside of the rims with a wire wheel on a drill ,they are both used rims& show age but in good nik,
new bearings in painted hubs,new spoke sets,laced and trued these myself..new rim tape ,1 new front tyre & 1 origonal good year on the back..

an incomplete 4 speed ratchet lid gearbox off ebay,,, l had the re-built lid in storage
and bought a complete kicker kit for the right side,

Left side brake drum on the front,,the lower fork legs were in nasty condition,
no internal bushings and the outer surfaces had very deep scratches, they had been drilled completely through the guard mounts as well,
l ran the correct size tap through the mounts, turned up & threaded some alloy lugs in the lathe,
screwed them in from the out side then filed them by hand to the shape ,
a pair of new fork sliders,new dampeners, new seals & oil..

yes its coming along o.k. Dave..
nothing flash, its going to be pretty much standard looking,a blend of black and chrome,i'll will be using the 80ci motor l bought a while back,
drum brakes, kick start only, tin inner and outer primary, 1960 headlight nacelle....

o.k. side tracked a little the past few weeks, back into it now,
 

a few small things to tidy up on the bike , but pretty much finished now, rides o.k. , drum brakes work o.k. ,its loud, standard 80ci"motor ,, super B carb, kick only,mouse trap clutch,
narrowed battery box by 50mm now takes a later model dyna battery.tin primaries, hinged rear guard,

B.B. ill leave the tab,probably attatch a bracket to it from the rear peg hole some time, there will be bits added and subtracted over time im sure..
the bikes lost its place on the bike lift at the moment,
have the panhead up on it ,to fit up some bits,buddy seat helper,choke lever and rod, a new metal fuel line,rear stand catch,etc.etc....never ends!!
but its all good fun...so l keep telling myself..
