I had the same dilemma in January as i needed to take the FXR off the road and do some serious maintenance to it, due to the turbo power causing things to wear out a lot faster than expected.

I must admit though that I never looked at a scooter (and man that one in the pic is friggin g@y).

I bought a Sporty as my daily ride and am loving it! EFI, Belt drive, damn good brakes and lightweight mean its a dream to ride to work on the Motorway each day. Plus its got a stage 1 in it so cage drivers hear me coming. The only minus is that its a Low Model so that curbs my cornering somewhat - which I suppose is not such a bad thing. Handles like a dream in the wet as well.

The only question now would be, when do the mods start?

 

I have a luggage rack and a rear bag with the Sporty which can handle most needs. But if your carrying a lot of gear then perhaps a set of hard bags on a sporty would do the trick.
