    Hey guys,

I'm wanting to hardtail my shovelhead. I've seen a few decent rear sections for sale in the states (fab kevin, Vtwinmfg) but with the dollar how it is at the moment, i was wondering if anyone knew of someone here in aus that did them or could supply one?

I'd prefer something with OEM HD axle plates.

    Cheers, Chris

my thoughts on that would be why fuck up a good frame? just as easy to get an engineered rigid.

If i bought a rigid frame, wouldn't i then have to go down the ICV road?

Thanksdave, that's reassuring to hear about fab Kevin. I was going to get one of his dual rear caliper setups too.

Also does anyone know of or recommend someone who can put this rear section on for me in queensland?

I'd go with Walka's suggestion for many reasons:
    1) you're not molesting an original early swing arm frame which are getting harder to come by with a modification that cannot be undone.
    2) Jeff Cochran builds very good quality stuff! (he's the man originally behind Sucker Punch Sallys)
    3) No engineering would be required on this as you have not cut or welded the frame. Even if you weld in a hardtail it still needs to be engineered. Not as big a pain as going ICV with a new frame, but still a big pain the ass
    4) If down the track you decide a rigid is not for you, you can easily go back the other way
    5) Cheaper too!
