I've got a mate that's looking into purchasing this bike from QLD but being a custom bike I'm thinking he might have some problems getting it registered in NSW. Does anyone have past experience or knowledge about what's involved in getting it registered in NSW?

Here's a list of the good bits on the bike as advertised.

    Genuine harley davidson frame

124cc twin cam s&s motor with diamond cut heads and barrels

baker 6 speed gear box RSD

    BDL 3" belt drive primary

    300mm rear tyre

    63mm inverted meanstreet frontend

    fournales suspension

    custom cycles controls

    burleigh bars

    6 gallon stretch tanks

    headwinds head light

    There are two obstacles:

    1) the roadworthy process; and
    2) the id inspection

It doesn't appear to be roadworthy or compliant with ADRs. Getting somebody to roadworthy it will therefore be difficult but possible depending on who you know.

But the id inspection will be with nsw roads and they will notice the obvious roadworthy issues with the bike. This will then cause problems for the issuer of the rwc.

If some of those mods have been endorsed by an engineer as being ADR compliant, that's a step in the right direction but you'll find nsw roads will not recognise the qld engineer's report so it'd need to be re examined by a nsw engineer.

Good luck. Your mate will probably need it.

I wouldn't bother with the hassles involved.

Interesting bike. Even in Qld you have to have heavy modifications blue plated (engineering modification plate) and looking at that I can see obvious things that should not even pass engineering in Qld.
