Hi guys
Just joined the forum.
Ive just taken ownership of a '93 model XLH 883 hugger sportster. Ive identified the make and model form the VIN number on the fork (the plate reads HArley Davidson Motor Co Harley Davidson XLH 883 11 93 vin 1HD4CEM19RY205807). I understand the CEM denotes the XLH Hugger model which superseeded the sportster low (shorter suspension and low profile seat?.
Ive been informed the bike has the 1200 engine (was actually told it was a 1300)? Can any body shed some light on how I could confirm? It hasnt run for a number of years and will need a bit of work to get it back up to standard.
TIA
Dan.

The link above will help you find more information on your bike.
thanks mate. The vin number would indicate its a 1994 model according to that link. On the plate on the fork it is stamped 11 93 and then the vin follows. Would i be right in saying it is a 94 model that was plated and sold in November 1993 (assume they are like cars and teh models can be released early?)
Will give the bike a wash and see if i can find teh crankcase numbers to see if it did get the 1200 upgrade.
