I'm looking at doing a bike tour of Canada for about 10 days or so.  Has anyone done one and if so, what was it like?  All feedback would be appreciated.

Thinking of a guided tour as I simply don't have the time to put together a trip and hotel selection.

We used Eagleriders out of Vancouver and they were a bit average and disorganised. The others we went with started at Eagleriders out of Kamloops. They were very sorted and even double checked our bike when we met up with the rest of our crew. They can arrange a package for you to suit with accommodation, maps etc. Book an Ultra with GPS and you won't need a guide.

Yep we used eagle riders out of Vancouver for the hire, they were a bit of a fuck around but once sorted all was good.
They worked out a route for us with a couple of good back roads and barge trips across lakes
then we just changed the route slightly to suite ourselves.

We done our own thing, didn't book accomadation anywhere cause we didn't want to be locked into anything.
We took our time , done what we wanted and never had trouble getting accomadation anywhere.

Fuck the guide I reckon, if you get lost these days with smartphones, gps and the works ya bloody hopeless lol
Anyway getting lost is half the fun as there is not a bad road to ride over there so you can't go wrong.

We did it ourselves , hired bikes from Seattle and went over the border, was great but preferred the Sturgis gig in 2010. Canada is expensive

Some people can't get into the states and don't have that choice Pauly

I crossed over the border at Douglas from WA State in 2012,expensive or similar to Oz on costs in general, 10 days was enough to have look about and went back South through Nth Dakota, I did the buy ride thing, personally I think the folks in the USA are more friendly and helpful.
Good times ahead whichever option you choose, enjoy !

    Bloody low blow Pauly lol

Hey mickle was walking through the airport with me daughter the other day talkin about how I can never get through without being the one chosen for the bomb test thing where they run the wand over ya, anyhows they chose her......

So I think this proves your theory wrong and maybe the scars are fading and I'm getting that little bit more handsome and respectable lookin wid age lol

One thing ya right about is that it's to much money to be getting turned back for. Specially when the missis wants to have cruise ships and shit booked on top of bike deposits, flights and the likes
