OK so the Train is running a little rough. I just wanted to share whats going on to see if there was any other ideas to confirm issues.
Story so far.
Bike running rough and fault code P0131, low voltage rear O2 sensor. However not sure what the PN afetr the clear fault code means, PN3290-07, any ideas???
Clear codes. test bike. throws code again -always at idle. you can hear the engine change note and then get a wiff of fuel as the computer richens the mixture.
Clear codes again, Replace fuel with new fuel from different servo. Go for a ride with the wife 200KMs, throws code against front and back cylinders now, P0131 & P0151. So that kind of negates the idea that there was a faulty O2 sensor, both to fail at the same time is unheard of.
Change map to new map (cant remember and the computer then died). Anyway it was a suitable map for the bike. Airfilter and slip ons only.
Has thrown codes again. Getting frustrated now.
Check the exhaust flanges and the rear is a tiny bit loose, no visible exhaust gas leads as there is no chuff marks from escaping gas.. Exhaust is now off and sitting on the floor. Will get new gaskets today. I was planning to fully remove the flapper as well since it is now off the bike.
Cant really pin it to any one thing. I'll post if this fixes it but if there is any other areas that I should be looking into then please point me in that direction.
Seems to only ever throw the codes at idle and you can hear and smell when it does.
Ideas? Over to the masses.
Russ
Yeah, OK that's a fix, agreed.
However what is the root cause, the why. There must be something that is not playing the game.
Just got back from in town and now have the replacement gaskets. I'll put them in and check again.
Thanks Ando

So I removed the flapper... That was a pain. Make sure you have a decent set of carbide debur tools. I didnt and it took some fancy work with the dremel and a cobolt drill.
I replaced the gaskets, both the header gaskets and the balance pipes, put it all back toegther and took it for a ride. So far so good.
No fault codes, no erratic idle.
Fingers crossed.
