    Hi all

I need to get my fuel tank off the old girl

    It's a carbureted version - not EFI

I have the factory manual and have followed that to a tee

after disconnecting the fuel line and then turning the fuel tap on - I get no fuel coming out of the tap

i have also removed the fuel cap and blew air into the top of the tank thinking this would assist - still no fuel coming out

i mean I've never had a problem turning the fuel tap on and starting up so why doesn't fuel simply come out of the tap as outlined above

Any advice would be breath APPRECIATTED as I'm stumped how this is occurring and I need to get the tank removed

I believe the standard fuel taps are vacuum operated mate. If there is no vacuum, i.e. the engine turning over, then there is no fuel. I'm about to get rid of mine too and put a pingel fuel tap on. which is not vacuum operated. Maybe just siphon the bulk of it out mate. I plan to use as much fuel as possible while riding then siphon the last out before tank removal.
