I will be riding and moving to Western Australia from victoria in June and will be due for registration shortly after I arrive..... my questions are:

will I need to change over my decatted headers and monster oval pipes, because of noise checks?

does the registration place or roadworthy inspection check your EPA pollution output?  as I have a set of XIED fitted which richens up the mixture

Is my "all in one" airhorn illegal?

where is a fair priced HD service shop or person south of perth.

Mate , you will need "quiet" AKA stock OEM mufflers to pass the pits for your WA rego

Despite the fact the roads here are full of noisy piped Harleys already already !

They will not exhaust gas check your bike to check for Catalytic convereters

Don't know about your airhorn , bring the OEM stocker anyways

What is your ride ? Some kind of bagger by the sounds ?

Thanks Retroman!.... and you are quite right as I have a road king.... so you are saying you think I could leave the decatted headers on and only change over monster ovals? that would make things a little easier but if they do a db test the decatted headers make the MO louder so I figure they will do the same for stock pipes!

as for the horn issue unfortunatley I no longer have a standard horn as a mate needed one for his bike, and at the time I had a spare eh! but thanks for answers your comments were appreciated.

 

Yes mate , you'll be fine with the decatted headers.

The stock OEM Harley mufflers are quiet as , especially the HDI or "Aussie" spec ones

If your horn was the stock cowbell thing I probably have one in the shed you could borrow if required

Just be aware here , you pay for every pits check. Used to be you got " 2 go's" and could go back with "failures" rectified

Now you pay again for a "re-test"

From memory if you keep paying for eastern states rego for another 12 months you can swap to wa without any inspections required as long as you have had a wa living address for at least 12 months
