Hi all,

My 2009 Night Rod Special can be put into gear while the kick stand is down. From what I've read the International models (my VIN starts with 5) are supposed to have a safety switch so that you CAN'T ride off with the stand down. I've had a close look around the kick stand and I can't see an electrical switch. Anyone help with this?

5HD is (often) an Aussie VIN. And to fix your problem I recommend not riding off with your stand down.

Does anyone have a Night Rod with the switch?

My 2013 Muscle is the same, I thought it was odd too to not have a kill switch on the stand.

It's an option on Models Post 2008 I believe, most Bikes won't have it.

My 2007 softail is a 5hd vin and hd oz delivered bike. I can also ride off with the side stand down without any switch turning off the bike. I've had jap bikes and a BMW which all had that switch though.
