have to go o ring chain dont have the clearance for the rear belt, i have a 1 1/2" setup here too cheap to buy the 1" plus i already have sprockets and offset spacers left over from an earlier rigid build.
fitting up 3" belt drive tonight with any luck.
the new dilemma is whether to paint the garage floor ith bondcrete .
I think i need to buy a bigger garage with a smaller house attached.....
does anyone know if the old gunfighter seats with the stitched flames are still available for 84-99 frames?
or a slim alternative im not really into the chucnky seat look, needs to have a relatively comfortable pillion
do you have them or can you get them?
Enjoying watching the progress on this build. Interesting to watch the process from start to finish. Great post !!
in between working all over the state have a few things done
shiny wheel in
belt drive 1/2 done
forward controls
front end
ended up getting a le pera bare bones solo and pad almost for the price of the solo alone so to good to pass up.
Really happy with the front end will, def recommend them, i like it so much ill probably take the springer off the rigid and get one of these off walka for it so have a 8" over chrome springer that will need a new home pm me if interested.
so i figured id button up the motor but of course the fucking pushrod tubes are cunts of things
cant compress them enough to install with pushrods in place and of course the pushrods hit the springs in the tubes so cant drop them through the heads could unbolt heads and do it then have the problem of not being able to compress the covers enough to adjust the pushrods
so need either new pushrods or tubes or both
not much going on just waiting on parts to arrive and taking a dive into wiring, anyone got any suggestions on mounting the wiring box not enough room between tanks so im thinking behind the rear oil tank mount on the frame, any advice here welcome
s&s goodness
not enough room between the tanks the unit doesnt fit between the frame rails and will obstruct one of the tanks, might give underneath the tranny a go,
been waiting on some parts, some have turned up others unavailable.. I wanted a rear guard with internal struts so after waiting for one that was on order, thats no longer available I have to bite the bullet and make one, which isnt a bad thing overall at leat i can build in a recess for the wiring and crap.
After a couple of hours with the jigsaw, angle grinder and welder, knocked up the base barcket and happy to say it fits like a glove.
Next bit will be the actual guard then the internal struts.
